In an effort to keep the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø community informed, the College has implemented a campus notification system to permit the distribution of time-sensitive information to students and staff during unforeseen events or emergencies using voice, email, text messaging, and displays on many campus televisions and classroom computers. During such circumstances, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø can broadcast pertinent information and provide details on an appropriate response.

All new students are automatically signed up for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Alert upon their arrival to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. Other community members are encouraged to enroll in the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Alert notification system so that such information is obtained and appropriate action may be taken and, as necessary, shared with others who may not have the capability to receive such information.To enroll in the notification system, please provide your most current contact information by logging into 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's

The personal contact information will not be shared with other entities, and it will be kept private and confidential. This information is used only for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø communication purposes with you, and it is kept separate from your student or employee records.

A test broadcast of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Alert system is conducted on the first Tuesday of every month at 10:00 a.m., which coincides with the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø County monthly warning siren tests.

What is the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Alert?
The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Alert system allows the College to quickly contact all students and employees with time-sensitive information during unexpected events and emergencies. You may provide phone numbers and e-mail addresses that would help the College reach you most quickly.

What contact information should I provide 51³Ô¹ÏÍø?
The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Alert system allows you to enter phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and mobile phone numbers representing your text messaging device. The best emergency contact number is probably your mobile phone.

What does 51³Ô¹ÏÍø do with the contact information I provide?
Your contact information will not be shared with other entities, and it will be kept private and confidential. This information is used only for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø communication purposes with you. It is kept separate from your student or employee records, and is not listed in the directories or online.

I heard that my classmate/colleague received a voice message from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø but I did not. Why?
It is possible that we do not have your contact information loaded in the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Alert system, or it may be inaccurate. Please log into the to verify your information. This page is always accessible from your page.

I heard that my classmate/colleague received an SMS (text) message on a cell phone from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø but I did not. Why?
To receive text messages, you will need to provide the College with your mobile phone number. Please refer to the for further information.

I received the message in my e-mail inbox, but when I clicked the link to play the message nothing happened. Why?
You may not have a default media player like Windows Media Player or Quicktime installed on your computer. You may download these players from  or .

I received the message but I missed the information. What should I do?
While on the call, you can replay the message by pressing the star key (*) at the end of the message. You may also check your e-mail to locate the link for that message.

I received the message but it kept looping/repeating. Why?
The system does its best to detect whether it has reached a live person or an answering machine. Sometimes loud ambient noises may cause the system to loop. If this happens, use the mute feature on your phone, or move to a quieter location to prevent the message from repeating.

I see a caller ID display of 226787, 67283, or from phone number 309-341-7003. Who is this?
When 51³Ô¹ÏÍø sends a call out using the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Alert system, it will always display caller ID information. Please save this number on your cell phone as a contact (eg, "KNOX EMERGENCY," or "KNOX ALERT") to represent the College calling you.
