Quiver CoverQuiver began as an online publication focusing on just three genres: children's literature, humor, and speculative fiction.  Quiver is one of the student-run literary magazines on campus that highlights and celebrates genre fiction. Established in 2006 by students and Professor Robin Metz, Quiver began as an online publication it has opened up the magazine for all genres -- romance, comedy, drama, and more.

In its original form, Quiver was divided into three zinelets: Diminished Capacities (humor), The Third Level (science fiction), and Wynken, Blynken, and Nod (children's lit). In the interest of expanding the range of genres Quiver publishes, it has since been turned into a single magazine. Quiver ran its first print issue in 2013, and since then, the magazine has published two print issues a year.

Quiver emphasizes the important place genre fiction has both within the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø literary community and in the larger literary world. Events such as monthly writing gatherings, genre-based professor and author talks, and fun-filled release parties create a space on campus for genre fiction.

Quiver seeks both submissions and new editors several times a year, giving students who are interested in genre fiction plenty of opportunities to join the Quiver community.
